ABOUT CHEMLUBE® SYNTHETIC LONG LIFE OIL

Chemlube® full synthetic oil is available in 3 viscosity grades- 10W30, 10W40 & 20W50. These organic ester multi grade full synthetic oils are specifically designed to meet the demanding hot climate in Malaysia and Singapore. Chemlube® organic ester full synthetic oils meet and exceed API SJ-CF, MIL-L-46152B. They are recommended for use in all gasoline and diesel engines. The low sulphur content of Chemlube® ester synthetic oil is a highly desirable feature for use in turbo and diesel engines.

The inherent characteristics of organic ester synthetics provide for low evaporation rates and strong detergent to keep engines clean of sludge and carbon. Chemlube® has the highest viscosity index of 197 giving oil stability for complete lubrication during traffic jams and sustained high speed driving. Engines run cooler with Chemlube®.

Engines using Chemlube® are significantly quieter, have better response and improved fuel consumption of about 10%. Chemlube® oil film strength of over 3000 PSI far exceeds other lubricants. WHY CHEMLUBE® SYNTHETIC LONG LIFE OIL

As every car owner knows, a new car will certainly have tight tolerance between the piston ring and cylinder wall of engine. Then after a couple of years with thousands of kilometers of driving, there will be wear at the cylinder wall and piston ring. Later, when a car is more than 10 years old with thousand of kilometers of driving, there will be greater wear or wide tolerance.

Therefore, if engine oil with a thick viscosity of 20W-50 is used for all cars, the result will be as follows:

• This thick engine oil will certainly suit the wide tolerance in a 10 years old engine.

• But this thick engine oil will resist the free movement of the piston to go up and down when a 5 years old engine has not wide tolerance.

• Worst, this thick oil will further resist the free movement of the piston in a new engine with tight tolerance.

So when one-thick-viscosity oil like 20W-50 is used for all cars, a car owner can expect the following:

• It will strongly resist the free movement of the piston in new engine and cause power loss. An 1800cc may perform like 1600cc.

• There will be high petrol consumption. More combustion will be needed to push the piston to move in the engine.

• Pay more road tax and insurance for less performance. For example: paying for 1800cc rate while the engine is performing like 1600cc.

Hence, it is best to select different viscosities for different cars: Thinner oil of 10W-30 for a new car for best performance, power and fuel economy; 10W-40 viscosity for an average 5 years old car and 20W-50 for a more than 10 years old car. Just like a car tyre, a single size cannot be suitable use for all cars!

Note: Thin oil will flow easier to all vital engine parts and will even give better protection against start-up wear. Thick oil will offer greater resistance to the movement of the lubricating parts. The viscosity resistance is proportional to the fourth power of the viscosity.
