Posted on the March 14th, 2010 under Health by (Beaulife) Altis Lo

Eat Out Dine OutFound this interesting health tips while I shopped at the wellness outlet inside a reputable hypermarket. Therefore, just share these great health ideas about eating out with you all in my blog.

1. Plan Ahead
Think about where you will be eating and what you will select. It will be best if you remember the menu, consider it and take you pick carefully based on your plan. Stick to the plan prior to any food order makes healthy dining out easier.

2. Awesome Fruits
Always remember your fruits, because fresh fruits are not only delicious but healthy as well!

3. Downsize Food Portion
Most restaurants nowadays serve food portions just enough to feed two guests. Therefore, always remember to request for smaller portion or share the meal with someone else. It may not be healthy to force yourself to finish off your meals. Just request the restaurant to pack the leftovers for later consumption.

4. Health Food Before Main Course
Start off your meal with soup or salad, which helps to curb hunger and you will eat less. In addition, chew your food slowly and properly, either a buffet or fine dining, because this helps you feel full faster. No rushing please.

5. Choose Healthy Side Dishes
Choose salads, grilled or boiled vegetables, or a baked potato as side dishes to replace oily and unhealthy fries or chips.

6. Saucy Sauces
Request sauces or dressings on the side as this helps you to have better control of your salt intake. The best choice of healthier options are vegetable or broth-based sources, instead of cream-based sauces or gravies with meat, pasta or rice.

7. Stay Away From Fried Food
Familiarize your good self with terms in menu and cooking basics, knowing the terms make ordering easier and fun. Always opt for food which are steamed, baked, grilled or broiled and stay away from fried or sauteed food.

Environment Twitters for Wild Life

Posted on the February 7th, 2010 under Book, Environment, Social Media by (Beaulife) Altis Lo

Save Wild LifeHelp save our wild life!

It has been the history of life on this planet for some species to live, while others have died out. It happens to plants as well as to animals, because their habitats are altered by the presence of mankind. During the Pleistocene period, it is believed that around thirty per cent of the large mammals in Africa and seventy percent of North American mammals were killed by the hunters of that time. The latest estimates of damage: up to sixty-two species of mammals are gone, and at least fifty-three, perhaps ninety-four bird species have vanished.

Many factors contribute to wildlife extinction, but by far the most damage comes from mankind’s clearing of the habitats of species in order to grow crops. When plants used by animals as food becomes scarce, so go the animals. One such disaster was the Large Copper butterfly. Collectors were over zealous for specimens and caused the extinction of this butterfly in the 1840’s.

Social networking makes information at hand, and so Twitter.com, just to name a few active tweets for wild life enthusiastic to follow:
