It’s just a little over 3 years old, but only recently has it seen its status and fame growing constantly. The emblem of Web2.0 / Web 3.0 and the semantic web movement, Facebook is the internet social networking site that’s suddenly sizzling with activity – and naturally, the powers-that-be are beating down the door to get their share of the marketing dollars to be had.
The big three internet companies – Google, Yahoo! and big mama Microsoft – were alleged to have had an all-out bidding war to buy just a small stake of Facebook’s big success.

I wonder if you have noticed that Twitter had changed the question for Tweets from “What are you doing?” to “What’s happening?” in November 2009? A blog entry in compete.com in February 2009 had ranked Twitter as the third most used social network based on their count of 6 million unique monthly visitors and 55 million monthly visits.
A blog in nielsen.com in March 2009 had also ranked Twitter as the fastest-growing site in the Member Communities category for February 2009.
Twitter had a monthly growth of 1,382 percent, Zimbio of 240 percent, followed by Facebook with an increase of 228 percent.

The Nielsen Company had conducted the independent Superbrands online survey of Malaysia’s Top 10 Brands between 14th January 2009 and 4th February 2009 to identify the consumers’ favorite brands in each of the 93 categories and brand names.
I could still recall that it was quite a lengthy survey when I accessed the online survey, I was taking a short break in my office during working hours. Plenty of interruptions from visitors, emails, SMS and incoming calls from my mobile phone and desk phone, that I was getting impatient to complete this survey.
